When our Lord said, “My flesh is meat indeed,” he could not mean that bread on the table, for the Lord’s Supper was not then instituted. In this particular text, at any rate, there can be no allusion of any kind to what is called “the Mass” by some, or by others called “the Sacrament,” because these things were not brought forward by our Lord until within a few hours of his death, and he is now speaking months before that time. ~ Charles H.
